I’m finally going to build this kit! Here’s what I’m building…a 2010 Camaro Coupe Aqua Blue metallic and Charcoal Gray Interior.

Before painting the body, sand-off mold lines where the roof blends to top of rear fenders, front and rear fascias, and glue The side view mirrors to the body.

I separate parts assemblies by color. Directly below are my color swatches to help me coordinate a theme. Spray paint cans in the background are ready to go!

Voila…all painted…well, most of it painted! I still have plenty of masking And trim work to do by with brush paint.

Testors Synthetic Lacquer GM Nassau Blue is a close match to GM Code Aqua Blue. I still need to spray the hood and add 3 coats of high gloss clear.

Packing up my parts and back in the house they go! Gotta protect new paint with proper drying temperature and conditions. Stay Tuned!

All major subassemblies have been glued and painted, ready for Final assembly!

Separate side interior panels make painting and detailing doors a breeze! The entire interior is painted using Testors Model Master Panzer Grey, with a misting of gloss clear.

Instrument panel and console details are simple, but when decorated displays nicely. The door panels and instrument panel were masked-off and painted Nassau Blue, tying it to the exterior body color.

The factory chrome was replaced with black primer and paint, with a thin layer of Alclad2 chrome for a black carbon look!

The 3-piece window assembly is masked off and spray painted Matte black for the window frame detail. Use photographs as reference to create the proper mask design for front, rear, and side quarter windows.

Once windows have been glued and bonded in place, securely attach the rearview Mirror to the inside glass. I used tube glue and a bead of white glue as a backup support.

Test fitting the chassis revealed a loose fitting front chassis, requiring some Mechanical attachment of the body to the chassis to maintain a proper appearance and stance.

I chose to pin drill two holes thru the engine apron, and threaded tiny self-tapping screws to attach the body to the inner front fenders on the chassis.

Insert both fasteners into each opening in the engine apron, and carefully turn each screw until the two assemblies meet.

The rear valance glues into recesses located at the lower rear fenders. Carefully apply cement and tape these together while the glue takes set.

I really like how front end sits snug to the ground, engine Compartment detail, and black carbon wheels!

Install detail items such tailights, grilles, headlamps, and decals.

Once the detail parts have been attached and decals coated with gloss clear, I like to wash-in The Detailer matte black into the door and bonnet gaps to add realism to the model.

Here’s my completed AMT 2006 Camaro Concept! The High gloss finish was achieved using LMG polishing cloths, Then an application of Meguiars Scratch-X 2.0 surface polish cream. This is my favorite view of the 2006 Camaro Concept model! Check out the illuminated rear side marker!

OK, I gotta get behind the wheel of this car!
